Jamie Foxx & Maggie Gyllenhaal join Roland Emmerich’s ‘White House Down’
Will play the president of the country in a film about terrorists taking over the White House.
There was a time back in the 90′s after ‘Die Hard’ was a huge hit, where Hollywood was crazy buying scripts that had a new spin on the same formula of Die Hard. We got ‘Die Hard’ on a ship, on a plane, on an football pitch and many other places. Now, looks like Sony is bring that formula back again with the new ‘Die Hard in White House’. They’ve bough a script by James Vanderbilt with director Roland Emmerich attached (2012, Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day) and Channing Tatum set to play the lead character of a counter-terrorist agent having to deal with terrorists that have taken over the White House. Now, two more cast members have joined.

Jamie Foxx, who will next be seen kicking ass in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’, is set to join the film to play nothing short of the President of United States. Since it’s set in the White House, I assume the President has quite a large role to play in the film and this is the politically correct choice to make. Also, Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Dark Knight) has joined the film to play a ‘patriotic’ Secret Service agent.
Considering the film already has a release date of November 1, 2013, things are expected to move fast on the project so expect more updates soon enough.
