‘ X-Men First Class’ sequel coming July 28, 2014; ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ arriving May 23, 2014
Fox announces release dates for sequels of their best films of 2011.
20th Century Fox announced two big release dates for their upcoming tentpole movies, and both of them are sequels to some of the best movies of last year that also happened to be prequels.
The sequel to ‘X-Men: First Class’, which has the cast and director Matthew Vaughn confirmed to return with Simon Kinberg penning the script, now has an official release date which is a little far away. The film will release on July 18, 2014 for a late summer release, but I would have loved it to have released the summer of 2013.
The sequel for ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ though, has a pretty cool title already. It will be titled ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’, which alludes to what can actually take place in the film with the apes taking over Earth. The film will release the same summer, but on May 23, 2014 which positions itself well at near the start of the summer.
Which one are you most excited for?
