Tom Cruise set to star in ‘Van Helsing’ reboot
Because he can.
What a difference a superhit makes. After the success of ‘Ghost Protocol’ and being attached to a gazillion projects, Tom Cruise can add another one to the list. This time, it’s a reboot of the Hugh Jackman starrer ‘Van Helsing’ which he’s also producing.
Variety has the details on the project which has Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci attached as producers along with Sean Daniel. Cruise has shown interest in the career and has been attached to various renditions of the character but looks like he finally found the definitive one. There’s still no confirmation that his plans to star will come through though.
I definitely see the actor in a role like that, but I don’t see a need for another film. The original was quite cheesy but Jackman did a good job with the role. There was just too much CGI all around.
