Jason Statham says no to ‘Fast Six’
The action star passes on the offer for a role in the next installment in the ‘Fast and the Furious’ series.
Looks like Jason Statham actually does say ‘no’ to projects. And he just did that to one of the biggest action franchises currently running.

Twitch reports that Statham has turned down an offer to star in the sequel to last year’s ‘Fast Five’ alongside Vin Deisel and Dwayne Johnson, a series that has many fans around the world. The fifth film in the franchise was actually one of the best action films of last year and was a great box-office success as well, and there was talks of Statham being in negotiations with Universal to join the series. Justin Lin is returning to direct.
You know what? A good call by Statham to not star in a film that is already dominated by two bigwig actors and play second fiddle to them. He’s more of a guy that has his own signature style and can pull off lead roles effortlessly, so he doesn’t need to be a supporting character in an already established franchise. Sure, he does that in ‘The Expendables’ but he’s the second lead in the film and has been there from the start. I rather see the guy do more solo (but good) action films. ‘Fast Six’ is looking great regardless.
