Only three Bollywood films made money this quarter
The Hindi Film Industry said to have lost 70cr in Q1 2012.
This news should came as no surprise for anyone following Bollywood movies. This year has seen some of the worst movies coming out of the largest movie industry in the world, and if you see the upcoming lineup, it seems the barrage of vile garbage is not coming to a stop any time soon.
According to GlamSham, only three movies released so far has been profitable, namely Kahaani, Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, and Agneepath, the latter being the only one to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark.
The biggest flops have been Players, Jodi Breakers, Gali Gali Chor Hai, Chaar Din Ke Chandni and Tere Naal Love Hogaya. Saif Ali Khan’s big action flick, Agent Vinod, has failed to make a mark as well..
Industry pundits are guessing the damage to be around Rs. 70 crore against an estimate turnover of around Rs. 380 crore net.
