‘Titanic’ coming in 3-D to UAE screens on April 5
Fox and Empire International giving the Oscar-winning classic a wide release in 3-D.
‘Titanic’ has been a milestone in American cinema and up until ‘Avatar’ was the highest grossing film of all time. It’s a celebrated classic for its durable love story and state of the art effects, and audiences still have fond memories of the film. James Cameron earlier announced that he’s working on a 3D re-release of the film and now we know that the film will release in UAE cinemas on April 5th.

While we’ve been treated to a lot of shitty 3D conversions in the past two years, ‘Titanic’ is going to be different. Why is that? Well, because James Cameron is the guy responsible for the re-surgence of 3D with ‘Avatar’ and he’s making sure that this is the 3D conversion that sets the bar for conversions of its kind. It’s taken him about two years to convert the film frame by frame into 3D and the work definitely looks impressive if you happened to catch a 3D trailer to the re-release in cinemas in the past few weeks. Empire International, the distributor behind the film, will be releasing it in UAE on April 5th for a worldwide day-and-date release to create a global event, just one week prior to the 100th year anniversary of the real life sinking of the ship (April 14th).
And here’s the best part – we’ll be holding a competition for the Dubai Mall premiere of the film shortly and you can win tickets to go watch the classic once again in 3-D format. But more on that later.
