‘Chronicle’ director Josh Trank wanted for ‘Venom’ movie
The hottest new director in town now wanted for standalone ‘Venom’ film by Sony.
Just directing an excellent and fresh superhero movie makes you one of the most wanted directors in Hollywood. We’ve already heard reports that 20th Century Fox wants the director of ‘Chronicle’ Josh Trank, which made more than $100 million globally on a $12 million budget, to direct the reboot of ‘Fantastic Four’ but the director denies being offered the job. Now, looks like another studio might have something equally big for him.

LA Times reports that Sony wants Josh Trank to direct their ‘Venom’ standalone movie, which has been in development for a while. Years ago, the studio set director Gary Ross to helm the film but nothing ended up happening on that front. Now, they apparently want Trank for the job and may not use the original script.
Many people hated the way Venom was shortchanged in ‘Spider-Man 3′, and I think Trank could do a great job in giving it the treatment it deserves. But the studio hasn’t confirmed this yet, so let’s wait to see what really ends up happening with this optimistic bit of news.
Would you see a ‘Venom’ movie?
