Russell Crowe in talks to play Noah in Darren Aronofsky’s next
While Liam Neeson might play his adversary.
No matter how you look at it, actor Russell Crowe is not nearly as big of a star at the moment as he was a decade ago. Though he remains to be an excellent actor who shines with his roles, he isn’t a box-office draw anymore and his last few flops have proved that. But he may be getting another shot at a lead role in a big-budget epic thanks to director Darren Aronofsky. And the role he’s playing may be prophetic.

Variety says that the actor is in talks to play the character of Noah in the upcoming re-telling by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Wrestler) for a shoot that’s set to begin in July. The script is by Ari Handel, which is set to tell the biblical story with hints of sci-fi. Paramount and New Regency are backing the film, and there is talk that Liam Neeson is wanted for the role of the villain in the film.
The project sounds amazing and I can trust a visionary director like Aronofsky to add his unique style to it and the casting so far sounds brilliant if actually ends up happening.
