‘Bruce Almighty’ sequel in the works with Jim Carrey
In other news, no talk about an ‘Evan Almighty’ sequel.
There was a time when Jim Carrey said he would never do a sequel to his own movie after he didn’t have a good experience doing ‘Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls’. That was also a time when Carrey used to be an A-list comedy star which has certainly waned over the years. Now, looks like he’s jumping back into the sequel game. We already know that the Farrelly Brothers are writing a sequel to ‘Dumb and Dumber’ and now comes news that a true sequel to ‘Bruce Almighty’ is also being written.

Variety says that Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, who also wrote the less funny ‘Yes Man’ have been hired to pen a sequel to the 2003 hit where Jim Carrey is visited by God (played by Morgan Freeman) and gets to take on his duties for a whiile to hilarious effect. It was a massive hit that then spawned a spin-off ‘Evan Almighty’ starring Steve Carrell’s character from the original and the film was anything but a hit, bombing thanks to its massive budget. That still doesn’t taint our memory of one of the hilarious scenes of the film pictured below.

More information about the film isn’t known at this time but it’s safe to assume Jim Carrey will return. But seriously, watch the clip below where Jim Carrey tries to mess up the live broadcast of his opponent Steve Carrell.
