First Look: Jeremy Renner kicking ass in Matt Damon-less ‘The Bourne Legacy’
Renner plays Aaron Cross in sequel to the ‘Bourne’ franchise.
Making a Bourne movie without Matt Damon is akin to making a ‘Mission Impossible’ without Tom Cruise – the stars there are the souls of the franchise and embody the spirit of the films. Strangely, both those film franchise are being slowly taken over by one actor – Jeremy Renner. And even though Universal has readied ‘The Bourne Legacy’ without Matt Damon in it, they’ve managed to assemble a bad-ass cast to compensate. And now, here’s the first look at the new character Aaron Cross played by Jeremy Renner in the movie thanks to USA Today.
That looks pretty good, I’ve got to say. Looks pretty close to resembling someone like Matt Damon. Thankfully, Renner is playing a different character in the same universe who’s connected to the organisation responsible to what happened to Jason Bourne. Matt Damon may return to the series sometime in the future, but till then Universal isn’t waiting. The film also stars Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Oscar Isaac, Joan Allen, Albert Finney, Stacy Keach and Scott Glenn with Tony Gilroy directing. But it seems like a futile exercise to have a Bourne movie without Jason Bourne in it.
The movie releases on August 3, 2012.
