‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ Trailer Shows A Decent Ensemble Rom-Com For Once
Pregnancy-themed ensemble comedy actually doesn’t look half-bad.
Romantic comedies with a massive ensemble cast are the new trend in Hollywood, and all of them are out to mimic the excellent British film ‘Love Actually’ that not only is the best film in the sub-genre but is one of the best romantic comedies ever made. Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve tried that out and failed at varying degrees. Now, another one of those comedies are coming but this look actually looks pretty decent and potentially a fun film.
The film stars every other star the studio managed to find that hadn’t been cast in the ensemble comedies before it. But the best part is – some of them are actually talented actors and actresses including a few alums from ‘Bridesmaids’. The cast includes Anna Kendrick, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Rock, Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Brooklyn Decker, Thomas Lennon, and Wendy McLendon-Covey. And the trailer actually looks to be funny enough with having something to say instead of just finding an excuse to put them all together. The jokes towards the end manage to actually get a chuckle out of the viewer. It’s leaning more towards comedy than schmaltzy romance which is always better. Hoping for a better movie then.
