Brave New World Awaits In Pixar’s ‘Brave’ Full Trailer
Pixar unleashes new trailer for their upcoming adventure.
Pixar stumbled with ‘Cars 2′ but there is no denying that they’re the best storytellers in the business and their track record is living proof. They’re going back to crafting an original world with their upcoming ‘Brave’. The teaser trailer was brilliant, but here’s the full trailer that gives off good vibes if not very well structured.
Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.
Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.
The visuals are great and there’s a lot of great characters in the story especially the welcome addition of a female protagonist for the first time. The Scottish accent makes it a unique ride and even though the setting might remind some people of ‘How to Train your Dragon’, the story looks to be more mystical. However, there are some odd comedic spots here that are sloppily edited into the trailer without much of an impact and when combined with the action elements don’t really gel well leading to a mess of a trailer. But there’s a lot more trailers to come and the movie itself definitely looks like something to watch out for.
