Michael Jackson’s Estate Shopping Biopic To Producers
We could see an MJ biopic on screen soon.
The death of Michael Jackson was obviously one of the biggest events in quite a few years, and the documentary ‘This is It’ was a pretty substantial hit which covered the footage from the tour rehearsals that he was doing. But looks like that may not be the end of anything related to MJ that we see on screen.
Variety says that Michael Jackson’s estate has finally decided that it’s the right time to shop the rights for a biopic about the legendary pop singer. John Branca approached filmmakers Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock to enter talks to produce the film under their Montecito Picture Company banner.
It “would only cover certain periods of the late singer’s life” since it’s an officially sanctioned one, so some of the crazy stuff in his life is probably not to be expected. But one can expect a lot of music in there. No director, writer, studio or an actor to play the role has been announced, so there’s a lot more here to be developed in the future.
Would you be interested in an MJ biopic?
