‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ Trailer Promises Medieval Action
Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are battling wits again in sequel.
When ‘Sherlock Holmes’ was a big hit for the studio as well as a great re-invention for the masses, Warner Brothers jumped up to announce a sequel. Now, we have a trailer to the upcoming ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ that promises more action than the first time around but still more of the same hijinks.
Guy Ritchie helms a new action-packed adventure, following the world’s most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.), and his longtime trusted associate, Dr. Watson (Jude Law), as they match wits with their arch-nemesis, the criminal genius Moriarty (Jared Harris).
Even though I’m bummed Brad Pitt isn’t playing Moriarty here as always rumored, this still looks like a fun ride that will be right up the alley for the fans who loved the style of the original. The jokes are similar, the action scenes are larger but similarly shot, but at the same time there’s a sense of mystery as well. The drag scene sort of didn’t fit the theme of theme, but Downey still makes it work.
Movie releases December 2011.
