‘Brave’ Teaser Trailer Shows Heroic New Pixar Adventure
Pixar compensates for ‘Cars 2′ with a great new trailer for their upcoming film.
Despite tainting their streak with a very mediocre ‘Cars 2′, there is literally no doubt in anyone’s mind that Pixar is still one of the best storytellers in the industry and their upcoming project ‘Brave’ is only going to prove it. We now have a teaser trailer for the movie that promises a whole new world and journey.
Set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, Brave stars Kelly Macdonald as Merida, the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Merida’s quest — and serving as comic relief — are the kingdom’s three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane).
I love how Pixar is trying to build a whole new mythical world for this movie and it definitely looks striking and impressive. The Scottish lore stands out and the main character is their first ever female lead and looks highly promising. There’s hints of dark territory and an overall sense of adventure that only Pixar can provide. And in just a minute’s time, Pixar has excited me once again.
