Megan Fox & John C. Reilly Join Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘The Dictator’
The creator of ‘Borat’ adds two more known names to his upcoming comedy.
While his ‘Borat’ and ‘Bruno’ thoroughly entertained by being improvised comedies that were actually real, Sacha Baron Cohen and director Larry Charles are going the scripted route for their next adventure called ‘The Dictator’ which we’ve already seen a hilarious first look of. And now, it adds two known names to the cast.

THR reports that Megan Fox and actor John C. Reilly have both joined the movie. There’s no mention of what their roles will be, but they’ll join Ben Kingsley and Anna Faris in the movie that’s already shooting. For those who don’t know, here’s the plot:
[Sacha] Baron Cohen plays a ruthless dictator who heads to the U.S. for a meeting at the United Nations and finds that his number two has replaced him with an unsuspecting sheepherder lookalike. As the dictator wanders the city, he meets the owner of an organic food store… She turns around his dictatorial thinking, and there’s a little romance in it as well.
I’m much more excited about a great comedian like Reilly (Step Brothers, Talladega Nights) joining the cast, since Megan Fox has yet to prove her talent in (intentional) comedic acting and I’m not holding high hopes. Although case in point, Judd Apatow is also looking to cast her in his next film. So maybe there’s something there? Time will tell.
Paramount releases the movie on May 11, 2012.
