‘The Expendables 2′ Gets Promo Posters & Shocking Synopsis, Jean Claude Van Damme Is Villain?

While the first ‘Expendables’ was a well-hearted and great-sounding project that did manage to get together an unthinkable cast, it wasn’t nearly as good as it could have been and only satisfied in the finale. The sequel won’t be directed by Sylvester Stallone and a new director isn’t set, but at Cannes Film Festival we have a promo image as well as a synopsis for the movie that reveals a lot.

The poster comes to us by the way of FirstShowing and this is the official synopsis:

“The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal! After Tool (Mickey Rourke), the heart and soul of the Expendables, is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. They’re not the only ones who want blood. Tool’s beautiful young and wild daughter Fiona embarks on her own revenge mission, complicating matters when she is captured and ransomed by a ruthless dictator plotting to destroy a resistance movement. Now Barney and the Expendables must risk everything to save her and humanity.”

Mickey Rourke dies in the film so that’s out of the way, although you would expect the studio to keep that as a surprise. No cast members have been signed yet so we don’t know who the daughter is going to be, but there are rumors online that along with Bruce Willis having a bigger negative role this time around, Jean Claude Van Damme will also join the movie as the villain. If that actually happens, it would be the most epic mash-up action fans could ask for although JCVD rejected the first film so jury’s still out.
