Marvel Confirms ‘Thor’ And ‘Captain America’ Sequel
The second Captain America adventure will be set in the modern world.
Marvel unleashes two of their tentpole superheroes at us this summer with ‘Thor’ and ‘Captain America’ both releasing to a lot of hype. Their well-thought out plan is to follow this up with ‘The Avengers’ and then ‘Iron Man 3′. But what about sequels to ‘Thor’ and ‘Captain America’? Well, now we know for sure that they’re in the works as well.

Marvel head Kevin Feige told D23 Magazine this following revealing statement:
Thor will go off into a new adventure, and Captain America will continue to explore the modern world in another film of his own. We hope that holds true for the characters appearing in that film — Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the spy organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. —all of whom are more than worthy and capable of carrying their own films.
And, we’ve got a lot of other characters we’re prepping and getting ready for film debuts: the world of martial arts, these great cosmic space fantasies, Dr. Strange, and the magic side of the Marvel Universe. There are many, many stories to be mined.
That’s a clear cut way to put things and easily confirms both those movies, as well as fan speculation at the next Captain America movie will be set in the present world. It also hints at the possibilities of independent movies of Hawkeye, Black Widow and even their lower tier characters.
Expect a lot on this front soon enough.
