Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter was not the only movie to be pulled from Japanese cinemas during their time of crisis.
The Chinese disaster film ‘AfterShock’ is also pending release in Japan due to the nature of the movie. The Chinese movie created by Feng Xiaogang follows the destruction caused by 2 historical earthquakes in China.
This is not the first time cinemas have had to pull movies due to disastrous events. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Collateral Damage (which was a disaster of a movie on its own) was pulled from cinemas in the US after September 11, due to the fact it depicted a skyscraper being destroyed.
On a sombre note Relief International is just one of the many sites accepting donations for Japan in their time of need. Do your part and help in any way you can.
