There’s no doubt that the most anticipated horror movie of the year is ‘Saw 3D’. Not only is it ending the iconic horror saga for once and for all, it also has an ‘event’ feel to it and is shot in real 3D. That’s a lot of reasons to get excited. The marketing campaign has been pushing the 3-D a whole lot and this poster is one that doesn’t. Have a look.
I like what they are going for here by giving Jigsaw the iconic status among horror villains and possibly in general. He’s certainly become a significant part of our pop culture and having a statue built of Jigsaw is a great way to show it. No reference to the 3-D here aside from the bottom line, which is a step up. Of course, anyone who hasn’t seen a “Saw’ movie won’t have any idea what’s going on here. But then again, why haven’t you?
