Creepy ‘Paranormal Activity 2′ Trailer Still Doesn’t Do It

While ‘Paranormal Activity’ wasn’t a genre defining horror movie, it was pretty good at what it tried to do – creep people out by scaring them into believing something is real. It also had genuine scares that made you question the authenticity of these scenes. Now a sequel is coming this month and no matter what they try to do, it will never be the same. We all know the controversy over the director, the casting updates and everything to suggest that there is no authenticity to any of this besides the raw urge to make a quick cash-grab. Yet, props to this trailer for trying its best.

What we see here is pretty much the first movie with new people involved. The only moderately interesting element that could provide a good amount of scares is the addition of a baby, and looks like the movie is tapping that idea pretty well. Other than that, the efforts to make it look real are failing badly and there’s no way people will react to this the same way as they did with the original. It will make some good money, though.

Trailer below.
