After making classic Hollywood movies like ‘Cast Away’ and ‘Forrest Gump’ among others, director Robert Zemeckis took upon motion capture animation as his next directorial venture. Too bad that venture lasted for quite some time and he hasn’t directed a live action feature since ‘Polar Express’, ‘Beowulf’ and ‘A Christmas Carol’. Now that his animation company ImageMovers has been shuttered by Disney because of the last two movies bombing at the box office, looks like the director is on the hunt for a new project.

Deadline reports that the director is making a deal with Warner Bros. for possible new projects as directorial ventures. One such project is ‘Timeless’. WB picked up the pitch for the Mike Thompson written project, which is currently being described as a big budget time travel film.
Why does that excite us so much besides the fact that Zemeckis is doing live action? It’s because he also made this little movie called ‘Back to the Future’ back in the day, which also happens to be one of the most fun movies I’ve ever seen. His return to the subgenre can only spell good.
