One of the most fun experiences at the cinemas for me last year was the unbashedly hilarious zombie comedy ‘Zombieland’. And many others felt that way, leading to it becoming of the biggest surprise hits of the year. A 3-D sequel was soon announced. Now we have an update on the project.

Director Ruben Fleischer tells CinemaBlend that a draft of the sequel’s script has been written down. But the fact is that it might still be a few years away considering Fleischer has ’30 Minutes or Less’ and a couple other projects lined up. Here’s what he said to MTV about the project:
What’s fun about the sequel is we have freedom and flexibility to show different periods. We might have scenes before the zombies, or we might have some months after, or potentially stuff further down the road. Through the voice-over and the way the movie is structured, we can really explore all different sides of it.
Great to hear fresh ideas for a movie that was already very fresh for the genre it was a part of. Can’t wait for ‘Zombieland 2′.
