At least now ‘Battleship’ has a credible cast member amongst its very and varied ensemble. The movie itself is a head-scratching adaptation of the famous video game, but now we have an actor that sort of makes me excited about the movie.
Universal jus revealed that actor Liam Neeson (Taken, The A Team) has joined the cast as Admiral Shane. That’s a great kind of role for the actor to play and will no doubt bring at least an entertainingly cheesy performance if the movie turns out awful. The last we saw was the movie shooting already so I figure not many scenes involve Neeson.
But is ‘Battleship’ really a commercial prospect? The movie is coming out on May 18, 2012 so there’s a lot of time to speculate on that, but there’s no doubt that this could go either way.
