Looks like the Justin Bieber 3D movie project by Paramount finally has an apt director. When announced, the movie had David Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) who now conveniently (no pun intended) walked away from the project. But fear not – Paramount already hired a new director.

THR reports that Paramount has hired director John Chu to helm the untitled film. The guy has directed ‘Step Up 2: The Streets’ and the upcoming ‘Step Up 3D’ and seems like a great match for the movie that this will end up being. He seems pretty excited to be on board as well, so good for him. Allegedly, the movie is already shooting since Bieber’s tours are now being recorded. Still doesn’t inspire any bit of confidence in this quick cash-grab of a project.
Movie has a February 11th release date.
