Weekly Posters: New ‘Yogi Bear’ Poster Is Wrong On Many Levels

Though the trailer wasn’t anything good at all, the upcoming ‘Yogi Bear’ movie looked at least harmless fun for kids. But now we have a new poster for the film that takes sexual innuendo in posters to a whole new level. And remember, this is a children’s film. Due to its unusually long length, click on it below to see it in full.

Everyone’s favorite pic-a-nic basket-stealing bear comes to the big screen in Yogi Bear. Jellystone Park has been losing business, so greedy Mayor Brown decides to shut it down and sell the land. That means families will no longer be able to experience the natural beauty of the outdoors — and, even worse, Yogi and Boo Boo will be tossed out of the only home they’ve ever known. Faced with his biggest challenge ever, Yogi must prove that he really is smarter than the average bear as he and Boo Boo join forces with their old nemesis Ranger Smith to find a way to save Jellystone Park from closing forever.

Now unfortunately for Warner Bros., children and their parents will not get it. But for the teenage audience, there is a certain very famous internet meme that the poster designers are obviously referring to. The close-up, positioning of the characters and the painfully double-meaning tagline all aim towards a very surprising marketing campaign on what is just a CG/Live Action kids flick. Maybe trying to get teenage audiences in with the double humor? I’m surely interested now.

Movie opens this Christmas.
