Another Lame CGI Kiddie Flick In ‘Yogi Bear’ Trailer & Poster

Are audiences getting tired of these kind of movies? Lame CGI/real world hybrid kid flicks exploited from famous characters that contain slapstick humor and lame gags? I guess they are since ‘Marmaduke’ flopped, and they should. But here we have another one coming from Warner Bros. titled ‘Yogi Bear’ which takes the lovable character of the same name and puts human characters and lame gags around it.

Everyone’s favorite pic-a-nic basket-stealing bear comes to the big screen in Yogi Bear. Jellystone Park has been losing business, so greedy Mayor Brown decides to shut it down and sell the land. That means families will no longer be able to experience the natural beauty of the outdoors — and, even worse, Yogi and Boo Boo will be tossed out of the only home they’ve ever known. Faced with his biggest challenge ever, Yogi must prove that he really is smarter than the average bear as he and Boo Boo join forces with their old nemesis Ranger Smith to find a way to save Jellystone Park from closing forever.

Other than the inherent cuteness of the two main characters, there is not one single gag in the trailer that is fully formed or invokes a chuckle. That’s a real bad sign for the film that runs hundred times longer than the trailer. In fact, I see resemblance to another bomb ‘Furry Vengeance’ in the plot already. Even 3-D might not save this, but it has a great release date and audiences might lap this up anyway.

Trailer below.
