With the amount of pop stars turning towards movies, it was only time Rihanna was taken into the fold. But the choice of the movie is definitely something no one expected. As if making a full length movie out of a board game wasn’t risky enough, Variety reports that pop star Rihanna has now snagged a role in the upcoming Peter Berg directed ‘Battleship’.
There’s no word on the specific role she will play, although she will be joining Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard and Tom Arnold. Though she is undoubtedly pretty and unique in her own way, she has no acting experience whatsoever and that’s what worries me about this. I hope she isn’t reduced to playing a character like Megan Fox’s from Transformers.
Universal has set the movie for a May 25th 2012 release.
