Zack Synder Not Sure About ‘Sucker Punch’ 3-D Conversion

Among the plethora of things wrong with ‘The Last Airbender’, reviews pointed out that the film is plagued with terrible 3-D that detracts the viewing experience and makes the film much darker than it is. This same issue plagued ‘Clash of the Titans’ as well, which was the worst 3-D I had the displeasure of seeing. Well, looks like directors are slowly rising against 3-D conversion. The first one to do so is Zack Synder.

Zack Synder tells MTV that even though Warner Bros. has announced the 3-D release of his upcoming ‘Sucker Punch’, he still isn’t sold on it just yet:
“We’ve looked at a bunch of conversions, so whether or not we have the time to do it right — I’m not going to do it if we don’t have the time to really be meticulous with it,” he said. “It’s such an awesome piece of work and everyone’s worked so hard to make it awesome, so I don’t want to screw it up with bad 3-D.”
Completely agree with the guy. Bad 3-D tends to hinder the enjoyment of the movie no matter how good it is thanks to it being a constant distraction that takes you out of the experience. But the real challenge will be to explain the studios of this, and I wish Synder good luck with that.
Movie opens April 2011.
