Here’s Something: James Cameron Directing ‘Black Eyed Peas’ 3-D Concert Film

Apart from directing amazing and commercially successful movies, James Cameron is also one of the most vocal pioneers of the new wave of 3-D. ‘Avatar’ literally revolutionized 3-D in cinemas today and he is still set on making it the new standard. But how far can one take it? Looks like he is directing a 3-D concert flick for the funk band ‘Black Eyed Peas’ next.

will.i.am tells Vibe about the project:

“Right now we are planning our 3-D tour movie and James Cameron is directing it. We have the biggest director because we are the biggest group on the planet. The Peas are filming it in South America. People will be able to see us in the theater with the 3-D glasses and everything.There will be a storyline that [Cameron] came up with, which will be dope. It’s a full-length film and it’s based around our tour activities. We’ve toured from America and Europe, to the Middle East, South America, Asia and Africa. It’s not like we go, ‘Yo, we are international, you know what I’m saying? London and Paris!’ Nah, that’s just two cities. We want to go across the planet.”

There’s no confirmation from Cameron himself but considering how crazy he is about 3-D, this sound just believable enough. I, for one, am exciting about this storyline that Cameron has cooked up for the concert. Could be something cool.
