Capcom is back at it with its beat ’em-up brawler, and if the reviews are to be believed, it’s a complete knockout.

Street Fighter 6 is being praised for its plethora of content (a direct answer to Street Fighter 5’s lack thereof on launch) as well as for its new Drive System, which adds new moves and powers for each fighter that has the potential to produce some interesting and exciting matches.

Street Fighter 6 Review Roundup

IGN

Street Fighter 6 is the most feature-rich a Street Fighter has ever been at launch, but even beyond that, it’s roster of 18 characters is excellent, the new mechanics revitalize the one-on-one fighting formula, and it absolutely nails all of the little things that make for a stellar fighting game.

IGN rating: 9/10

Gamespot

I can’t get enough of Street Fighter 6. It’s been my last thought when I go to bed and my first thought when I wake up. It has a beautifully constructed fighting system, but also offers modes that take the game very seriously and, in other cases, not seriously at all. There are some small issues with performance in World Tour, but none of those are enough to derail the overall package.

Gamespot rating: 9/10

PCGamer

Capcom has offered an absolute buffet of ways to play Street Fighter 6, and there’ll be something at the table everyone likes. If you’ve ever been too scared to try a fighting game for the first time, make Street Fighter 6 your entry point into the genre. It’s easily the most accessible entry yet, and I can’t wait to see how many more people enter the FGC through this game.

PCGamer rating: 8.9/10

TheSixthAxis

Street Fighter 6 doesn’t need recommending to hardcore fighting fans – you all already know how incredible it is – but do I recommend it for more casual players? Street Fighter 6 has a real sense of community, welcoming all players old and new, teaching new tricks and providing something for those that just want a bit of fun. This is truly a fighting game for everyone.

Shacknews

The roster feels like a great starting line-up, the fighting feels good, the visuals outside World Tour are beautiful and the online lobbies and networking are superb. There are even good reasons to jump into World Tour when it catches your fancy, but I wish that end of the game was in better shape.

Shacknews rating: 9/10

PushSquare

A strong roster of starting characters, near-flawless rollback netcode, and a seemingly never-ending selection of content – including interactive online lobbies with playable retro games – round out another unbelievably impressive effort from the seemingly unstoppable Japanese publisher.

PushSquare rating: 9/10

Gaming Nexus

Capcom has given us a complete game right out of the box. The single player experiences are enormous. The online experience is perfect. Street Fighter lore is littered in every nook and cranny of this game. There are modes and modes within modes. This is one of the best Street Fighter games in the history of the franchise. If Capcom hurt you in the past, this is their apology. Street Fighter 6 is a new classic that people will be playing for years to come.
