The boy now wants to propose to the girl. The best plan he could come with is to fuse it with Bioshock references. To make it more realistic, he sought help from 2K Games. What happens next is on video as evidence.

After an oblivion delay, the novel written by sci-fi author John Shirley will be available on the first day of March.

A promised release of a novel detailing the rise of Rapture, a prose novel being written based on the Bioshock video game series from developer Irrational Games. The novel was planned to be published alongside the launch of Bioshock 2 back in 2010. However, the novel was delayed into oblivion and never released with the game, extra content was promised to be added later. Now, it is actually coming. Amazon.com has a new listing for the novel titled Bioshock: Rapture stating it will be released on March 1.

The book is written by sci-fi author John Shirley. Moreover, there’s a special introductory chapter added by Irrational Games’ headman Ken Levine.

Bioshock’s special novel will be out in March. You can read a short synopsis below:

“It’s the end of World War II. FDR’s New Deal has redefined American politics. Taxes are at an all-time high. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki has brought a fear of total annihilation. The rise of secret government agencies and sanctions on business has many watching their backs. America’s sense of freedom is diminishing . . . and many are desperate to take their freedom back.

Among them is a great dreamer, an immigrant who pulled himself from the depths of poverty to become one of the wealthiest and admired men in the world. That man is Andrew Ryan, and he believed that great men and women deserve better. And so he set out to create the impossible, a utopia free from government, censorship, and moral restrictions on science–where what you give is what you get. He created Rapture—the shining city below the sea.

But as we all know, this utopia suffered a great tragedy. This is the story of how it all came to be . . .and how it all ended.”

Publisher won't go the Activision way.

Although more and more publishers are looking to annualise big franchise releases (see EA with Need for Speed, Ubisoft with Assassin’s Creed) and some (Activision with Call of Duty) have attained huge success with the business model, Take Two is apparently least interested in annually releasing its recognized titles like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead.

Speaking at the Reuters Global Media Summit, Take Two president Strauss Zelnick said annualising games threatens their quality and risks burning out consumers.

He added that the publisher no longer needs to rely on the Grand Theft Auto series as its sole source of profit.

“We don’t have any structural impediment to being profitable in a given year.”

BioShock 2 and Red Dead Redemption provided healthy sales for Take Two this year. High profile releases set for next year are L.A. Noire, Duke Nukem Forever and (according to analyst Mike Hickey) Max Payne 3.

DLCs dropped due to "timing and technical issues."

Elizabeth from 2K Games recently confirmed that Bioshock 2′s two DLCs, Minerva’s Den and Protector Trials, will not make in on the PC, at all.

“We will also not be offering Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den on the PC in the future – and I want to say that I’m sorry for the disappointment this will cause to PC players out there. As always, if any of these issues change in the future, I will update you guys first, but at this point in time I don’t want to make you wait any longer and these are the most definite answers I have and you guys should deem them final decisions.”

She also added: “Timing and technical issues were the problem.”

Beats Ubisoft's Just Dance...

Bioshock 2 is doing extremely well in the UK at the least as 2K Marin’s underwater sequel has drilled its way onto the number 1 spot of the all-formats Top 20. It has managed to beat Ubisoft’s Just Dance, a title we have not really heard about and wonder why UKers were so interested in it, and EA’s FIFA 10 which positions itself in the 3rd position.

Here’s Chart-Track’s UK Top 20:

1. Bioshock 2
2. Just Dance
3. FIFA 10
4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
5. Wii Sports Resort
6. New Super Mario Bros Wii
7. Wii Fit Plus
8. Mass Effect 2
9. Dante’s Inferno
10. Bayonetta
11. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
12. James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game
13. Army of Two: The 40th Day
14. Madden NFL 10
15. Mario Kart Wii
16. Forza Motorsport 3
17. LEGO Batman: The Videogame
18. Peppa Pig: The Game
19. Assassin’s Creed II
