People really do push it sometimes. But, by far, it has only been fanboys and hardcore gaming extremists that did the impervious things like Mario tattoos and big daddy costumes to show off their geekiness. Latest in the line of jack-ass’ery is Cliffy B with his new ad campaign. It is advised that readers beware before clicking this link. You have been warned!

And no, this image has not been photoshopped. It was posted by the great celeb-cum-developer himself in his Twitter account.

How to quench your power-hungry PC

Ask any gamer and they will tell you how important it is to have a fairly good chassis and power supply. No matter what top-end dual card graphics cards your system sports, it’s as appealing as a Ferrari engine installed into a 20 year old dumpster. While most think that a cheap plastic box will do for your computer chassis, experts know better how a better investment in a computer case will reap eons more in performance and component durability. Heating issues and system inefficiency has been around long before IC’s were even invented. Proper cooling has been a paramount concern for chip overheating and component longevity. This is where a good chassis can do that much more for a little extra money.

Antec 1200 Gaming Case:

Today, we look at the Antec 1200 Case. A case designed and perfected for gamers with components that gets hotter than a conventional oven and contraptions that requires a kilometer of breathing space. I have always been a big fan of Thermaltake cases for their sturdy design and excellent cooling solutions. Our previous favourite, the TT Armor was such a lovable piece of engineering that we wondered if it would be possible to surpass its standards. And thankfully, Antec might just have done that.

The first eye catching feature about the Antec 1200 is a monster 220mm fan placed on the crown of the chassis that looks more like an industrial ventilator that a standard PC fan. Physics tells us that the bigger the size of the fan, the better the air it pushes through it and indeed physics is right! This 220mm giant not only keeps a check on internal heat build-up, but also remains to be quite in doing so. Users with a stock CPU cooler might find this quite handy given their CPU temperatures can rise to near boiling points. As if that wasn’t enough, the Antec 1200 packs many more ventilation fans that we’re surprised it hasn’t taken off. In the rear are two 120mm exhausts placed strategically near the graphics card slots and three 120mm fans in the front that blow cool air into the case. One annoying thing though was the blue LEDs on the fan have no real way to be turned off unless you want to disconnect the fan entirely, which again defeats the purpose the Antec 1200 was built for. Never-the-less, this conspicuous display of lights will get you the “Best LAN case” award if they really started doing something like that.

Seeing the almost everday releases of new textures, mods, and maps for the singleplayer campaign, the never-ending minions of the Crysis modding portal have once again come up with textures and skin packs. But, this time for the Nanosuit. We especially liked the "Blood" skin from the pack while others looked just plain…."homo".

Doom 4 Officialy Announced at QuakeCon

Doom 4 has been officially announced at this year’s QuakeCon that went live yesterday in Texas. John Carmack, the father of id Tech 5 Engine stated that Doom 4 will graphically look much better than RAGE and pressed on to say that Doom 4 will have a "more extensive" multiplayer compared to Doom 3. Furthermore, it is believed that Doom 4 will run with 3 times the horsepower of RAGE making it look like a whole new engine. Given the reputation of JC, we can’t really dispute his claims at this point.

Designer Tim Willits also suggested that Doom 4 may not be called that and may drop the number for a subtitle. id Software is not 100% on this with the opinion divided for and against. We don’t mind either way, however, just don’t make it horribly cheesy!
