Ubisoft has released a new patch for the PC version of its action-adventure, Assassin’s Creed II. The patch, which updates the game to v1.01, is an attempt by the French compagnie to lessen the backlash received against their new DRM which requires an ‘always-on’ internet connection and would revert players back to the last save point if the connection was lost. The patch regulates the DRM to let players continue from where they left off after the connection is restored.

Here is the complete changelog:

  • Game can now be continued from the exact same point when connection is restored
  • Added support for ATI Eyefinity technology
  • Fixed minor performance issues related to some multi-core processors
  • Now resets graphics options if a new video card or monitor is detected
  • Fixed some minor issues in Uplay Browser

The patch (19MB) can be downloaded from here or here.

I like cake. I also like to play games and write/rant about them. Coincidence? I think not.
