New Assassin’s Creed to Continue Ezio’s Story
New title will be worked on by Ubisoft Montreal itself.
The new Assassin’s Creed title or “episode”, which was announced yesterday by Ubisoft in their third quarter financial report, will yet again star our flamboyant Italian hero Ezio and will be a follow up on Assassin’s Creed 2 story – as confirmed to CVG by Ubisoft.
The French publisher also confirmed that the new title will be worked on by Ubisoft Montreal itself. It is interesting that they mentioned this. Why wouldn’t Ubisoft Montreal develop the game?
“We have a new Assassin’s Creed that we expect will be a very high quality product that as well as an offline component will have a multiplayer component,” Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said today.
“It is the same studios because it’s not only one studio creating the game, but an association of studios and they are working together to make it happen.”
A fellow Ubisoft spokesman then added: “The game will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin’s Creed 2.”
Ubisoft still hasn’t confirmed if the new title will be a side episode or a completly new iteration in the series. Ubisoft plans to release the game before March 2011, making a Christmas release very likely.
