Serious Sam 3 by 2010
Croteam seriously serious about Serious Sam’s serious third adventure. Seriously.
Oh, the joy of making ridiculous puns over the title. Anyway, we have some extremely good news for fans of Croteam’s ball-basaltic, seriously serious first person shooter Serious Sam.
The folks at Destructoid, after rekindling their joys with the recently released Serious Sam HD 1 & 2, asked developer Croteam if they are ever planning to post up a new Serious Sam adventure. The answer was a pleasant “happening for sure”
Well, we put that question to Croteam boss Roman Ribaric in no uncertain terms, and we were pleased with the answer. Serious Sam 3 is totally still in the works, and what’s more, we should be hearing more about it very soon.
“Serious Sam 3 is happening for sure,” Ribaric tells us. “It is currently planned to be finished in 2010.”
Serious Sam is probably the only FPS that represented the genre for what it was: point, shoot, kill some, chew bubble gum (well, maybe not that). There was no story, no larger than life characters, no convoluted arcs, just plain, simple shooting. A new adventure with Sam ‘Serious’ Stone is what we eagerly await now.
