Why I don’t Game as much
Anything that demands more than ten minutes of a learning curve is a negative.
There’s a reason why I don’t game as much as I used to fifteen years ago. And the following cartoon strip from Dueling Analogs sums it up perfectly.

You see, I now have two daughters aged 1 and 4, a business to run and a household to take care of. So anything that demands more than ten minutes of a learning curve is a negative. That is probably the reason why my list of games that I must play keeps getting longer and longer. At the moment, Uncharted 2, Dragon Age and Arkham Asylum are on top of that list, but I’m sure they will slide down once Bioshock 2 is out.
There are only two companies whose games I would take the time to learn and play- simply because they have earned my respect. First is Blizzard. Blizzard understands how crazy life is. World of Warcraft is SO easy to get into, even though its one of the most complicated games I’ve ever played. I’m sure Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 will be equally good. The second company, or should I say series is Final Fantasy from Square. Again, a game I cannot wait to get my hands on.
So how do I get my dose of gaming nowadays? The iPhone. Its my phone, my messaging device, my media device and now my gaming device as well. Games like Ravenstorm and Dragon Hunter are good enough to get my kicks. Plus the whole nostalgia with Monkey Island and Beneath a Steel Sky makes me love this device even more. Its simple and entertaining. Just what I need at the moment.
