The Elder Scrolls Online is real
ZeniMax developed MMO coming next year.
A massively multiplayer online title based on Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls universe, called The Elder Scrolls Online, will release next year for the PC and Mac.
The game will be developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, a new development team formed by Bethesda’s parent company, ZeniMax. The project will be helmed by Matt Firor, who is best known for his work on MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot.
“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” director Matt Firor said in a press release.”It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
The Elder Scrolls Online will be set a millennium before the events of Skyrim, taking place across all of Tamriel where a daedric prince Molag Bal is causing destruction and mayhem on the realm. Elsweyr, Skyrim and Cyrodill will be some of the areas available for players to explore. The game will have three factions and PvP combat.
More details about the MMO is set across for an exclusive preview with GameInformer. The US magazine’s June issue should be out soon, so stay tuned for a bout of new information. First trailer and gameplay footage could be expected during E3, too.
