NVIDIA reckons mobile GPU performance will surpass Xbox 360 by 2014
Shows a graph estimating a steeper increase in mobile progress compared to PC, console GPUs.
It is a fact that no one can deny, mobile technology is advancing real quick. Well, how quick is that?
NVIDIA is giving us a glimpse at mobile graphics performance in the not-so-distant future, most notably estimating that the continuous advancement in the tech will reach a level where Xbox 360 graphics could be achieved on our phones throughout the time-frame 2012-2014.
As seen below, via a presentation graph given to AnandTech, we can see the predictions for PC, console and mobile GPUs over the next few years, as sighted by graphics hardware giant, NVIDIA.
While the respective trajectories are a given performance wise, NVIDIA expects the leap in mobile graphics to withhold that of Xbox 360’s due to a steeper rate of improvement in the coming years. Nonetheless, by then, the market should be ready enough to accept a new console. What do you think?
