Diablo 3 ‘Starter Edition’ leaks
Blizzard accidentally gives access to Beta to all account holders.
Blizzard slipped-up on the Starter Edition of Diablo 3 after launching it prematurely yesterday.
According to reports, Battle.net account holders noticed they had access to the Diablo 3 Beta without entering a redeemable beta key. However, upon launching the game, the GUI was littered with “upgrade buttons”, seemingly asking for payments to features that were “unavailable in the Starter Edition of Diablo 3.”
A ‘Starter Edition’ usually is a free but capped version of a game with certain features and items locked away for paid users. World of Warcraft and StarCraft 2 both offer a Starter Edition.
Following the events, Blizzard took the Diablo 3 Beta servers offline, however it seems they are now Live again.
