Users can now access games on Origin even after being banned

My reaction is

After the constant negative press, Electronic Art’s latest gesture will surely come as a sign of good faith (right?). The publisher has updated Origin’s policy, which now allows users who are banned to still access their games offline.

“If you find yourself with a disabled account, please note that you can still play EA games in single-player mode. For PC games you will need to enable Origin’s offline mode to play games with a disabled account. Go to the settings tab in Origin (the gear icon) and select Go Offline.”

This is a good step forward for the service which has its fair share of nay-sayers for its intrusive policies (EA apparently has the right to snoop around your PC anytime they want). Now only if Electronic Arts fixes that, that we can finally open Origin without the fear of federal cops capping us from the window. Not that I have any reason to be afraid of…
