Crysis 3 official announcement due on April 16
Crytek sequel reportedly set for spring next year.
Let’s face it, who was expecting another Crysis? Yesterday’s leak took everyone with surprise, and whether or not was accidental remains to be seen – although I’d go with the latter. Now it seems that Russian website Madfanboy figured the release date for the threequel, suggesting that it’s planned for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2013.
Further claims from the site suggest that Crysis 3 will take place in New York – again. This time, however, the city got struck by an unknown force that somehow caused an unforeseen makeover, shifting the metropolis into a jungle. So, Crytek will be involved in returning partially into the setting of the first game in combination with the location of last year’s sequel.
A statement made by Crytek (via CVG) concludes a bona fide reveal is inbound next week on April 16. “Yeah, what can we say other than that the best kept secret in shooters just can’t be contained,” said the Crytek rep. “We will share more information next Monday, April 16.”
