BioWare’s promised end-game DLC for Mass Effect 3 will release this summer. The ‘Extended Cut’ DLC will offer additional cinematics and epilogue scenes that will provide a better context and a deeper insight into the game’s ending.

From the description, it doesn’t seem like the downloadable content will offer any new gameplay, only extra scenes for a proper closure.

“Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3. The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard’s story,” BioWare said in a post-cum-FAQ on its official website.

The DLC will be available for free.
