Soulcalibur V’s story could have much longer if not for the damn budgets
Apparently, only one-fourth of the story was developed.
Project Soul had to cut down story content for Soulcalibur V due to budgetary limitations. Team leader Daishi Odashima revealed that only one-fourth of the storyboard made it to the final game because they simply didn’t have the resources to develop further.
“Our first plan on the storyboard was that we had every characters story,” he told Train2Game.
“But time-wise, man power-wise we weren’t able to do it and only one fourth of what we planned to do is in the game.”
Project Soul had even began production on some of the content before it was cut.
“Some of the voice-overs are already taken but haven’t been used,” he said.
“We want to make use of it somehow, but we don’t know how that’s going to be.”
