Mass Effect’s first person shooter prototype gets a video
Cancelled project looked a mixture of Halo and Unreal Tournament.
From the depths of the 15,000 words that ‘The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3‘ iOS app is, comes the first video of Mass Effect: Team Assault, BioWare’s first person shooter prototype set in the Mass Effect universe.
Team Assault was to be a standalone multiplayer title that would fill in the gaping void of emptiness between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, but was cancelled due to various reasons. The multiplayer concept stuck, however, and was ultimately included into Mass Effect 3 but only as a 4 player co-op horde mode.
Check out the video below, thanks to AGB.
Being a Mass Effect fan, I would totally play this despite it having a flavor of Halo and Unreal Tournament. I think the weapons, powers and customization would make a decent downlaodable multiplayer title. For a decent downloadable game-like price, of course.
