Capcom has stated on its Japanese blog (via Nintendo Universe) that Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono has fallen victim to illness and was rushed to hospital after a severe deterioration in his physical condition. The incident occurred following a recent promotional even across Asia.

“I would like to bring something else to everyone’s attention. Shortly after the Street Fighter X Tekken promotion in Asia, Yoshinori Ono’s physical condition rapidly and heavily deteriorated, and he had to be taken to the hospital,” said Capcom on its Street Fighter blog.

“Because of his hospital tenure he will not be performing work-related affairs for a while. Ono’s well-being is very important to us and we wish for his steady recovery.”

Ono has reportedly been working hard over the past few months, wandering the globe in an effort to promote Capcom’s latest fighter – Street Fighter X Tekken.

His current condition is unknown. But whatever it may be, we wish Ono-san a speedy recovery.

Other than his excessively biased enthusiasm toward gaming, and technology behind the whole industry, there's a huge fondness inside that drives him nuts to pick up his keyboard and start writing for the love of it.
