Rumor: Prey 2 cancelled
Source claims Bethesda will issue an official statement next week.
Alien abduction sequel Prey 2 has been absent from making headlines in the gaming medium since its last showing at GamesCom in August. A “reliable source” at PS Focus might explain the whole thing – the first-person shooter has been purportedly cancelled.
The Dutch site goes on to add that Bethesda will release an official statement announcing the cancellation of Human Head Studio’s-developed shooter next week.
It is a bold report, to say the least. But what can we do except for waiting a few days to find out for sure whether or not the site’s claim is legit. Although this isn’t the first time this year a Bethesda-published title gets struck by the cancellation rumors, with id Software’s DOOM 4 previously passed upon reports of development cessations twice in the past six months; but Bethesda did deny them back then.
