LittleBigPlanet Karting announced for this year, gets a trailer
Sackboy indeed going karting in a spin-off from ModNation Racers studio.
We heard last month that a new LittleBigPlanet is in development and here’s Sony sending official words regarding the game’s existence. And no, this isn’t a sequel, but a racing spin-off due for release on PlayStation 3 in 2012.
LittleBigPlanet Karting is co-developed between series creator Media Molecule and United Front Games, the same people who brought us the acclaimed ModNation Racers.
According to the developer, the game will provide you with a new toolset that allows for endless creation, a ‘la LBP’s trademark offering, Play Create Share. That means you can design your own tracks, customize Sackboy, the karts and have your own rules set, while having the ability to submit the user-generated content online and share them with the world.
“With LBP’s powerful and diverse toolset in their capable hands, LittleBigPlanet Karting is sure to be an adventure that both LBP fans and kart racing fans alike will enjoy! We are very eager to see what you think of this union and especially excited to see what happens now that you have a 3D environment to create in! It’s the start of a whole new LBP world!” said Media Molecule.
