Rumor: Bethesda to unveil The Elder Scrolls Online in May
The world will be set a thousand years before Skyrim.
Tom’s Guide got three anonymous sources claiming that Bethesda is going to announce The Elder Scrolls Online sometime in May this year.
The game will be based during the ‘Second Era’, which based on hooky calculations result in a figure of a thousand years before the events of Skyrim, or possibly several hundred years before any of the Elder Scrolls games. So, something like what BioWare have done with its Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO.
Elder Scrolls Online will have three playable factions, each representing one of the three following animals: a Lion, a Dragon (dovakiiin!), and a bird of prey.
According to those sources, the game will get its first reveal in May, then be passed onto E3, Quakecon and other such major events. Apparently, it be showcased along with DOOM 4 during Quakecon.
Bethesda has declined to comment on the matter so far.
An Elder Scrolls Online could work, but do we really another fantasy themed MMO?
