Diablo III officially releasing on May 15
Blizzard finally dates long awaited action-RPG.
Blizzard has just confirmed a May 15 release date for Diablo III, the highly anticipated action-RPG sequel. Both retail and digital releases of the dungeon crawler have been priced at £44.99 (around $70), with the firm revealing pre-ordering digitally is a go on Battle.Net. However, folks in Latin America and Russia will have to wait until June 7 due to localization procedures.
In addition to the release date announcement, Blizzard has lifted the wraps on the Collector’s Edition release of the game, which will be sold exclusively in stores at a suggested price of £69.99. Toys included are a skull of Diablo alongside a crystal shaped USB stick that has a stored copy of Diablo II with the ‘Lord of Destruction’ expansion, as well as exclusive in-game items for World of Warcraft and StarCraft II.
It also packs a behind-the-scene Blu-ray disc, a 208-page art book and a soundtrack CD.
Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime said: “After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we’re now in the homestretch.
“We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo III over the next two months and delivering the ultimate action-RPG experience to gamers worldwide starting on May 15.”
